Basic PLA

Material Guide

PLA

Recommended for most projects

Easy to print with a great surface finish and the widest colour range. Ideal for prototypes, display models, cosplay, and decorative items. Not heat resistant (softens ~60°C) and brittle under impact.

PLA-CF

Best for rigidity at low weight

Carbon fibre reinforced PLA — stiffer and stronger with a premium matte finish and reduced warping. Great for drone frames, structural components, and functional parts where rigidity matters more than flexibility.

PLA Wood

Natural aesthetic finish

Real wood fibre fill with unique grain texture. Can be sanded and stained for a natural look. Ideal for decorative items, models, and figurines. Lower strength than standard PLA.

PLA Metal

Metallic lustre finish

Real metallic powder fill that produces a stunning metallic sheen. Available in Copper Brown, Iron Gray, and Iridium Gold. Perfect for jewellery displays, trophies, decorative hardware, and artistic pieces.

PETG

Go-to for durable functional parts

Strong, flexible, and chemical resistant with good UV tolerance. Perfect for mechanical parts, outdoor use, and food-safe containers. Slightly less detail than PLA but far more durable.

ABS

Heat and impact resistant

Handles temperatures up to ~100°C with excellent impact resistance. Can be acetone-smoothed for a glossy finish. Ideal for automotive parts, enclosures, and anything exposed to heat or repeated stress.

TPU

Flexible and shock absorbing

Rubber-like flexibility with excellent impact absorption and abrasion resistance. The only choice for phone cases, gaskets, seals, vibration dampening, and wearables. Slower to print with less precise details.
